At Grupo Construcía, we have carried out the complete refurbishment of the Mutual Médica building, located in the heart of Barcelona, combining innovation, sustainability and respect for the architectural heritage.

Scope and methodology

Comprehensive refurbishment with partial modification of the building’s structure and roof, in addition to the refurbishment of the exterior spaces.

5,000 m² of offices refurbished under criteria of efficiency and circularity.

Heritage restoration of the historic auditorium, transforming it into a versatile and technological space.

Creation of coworking spaces, meeting rooms and wellness areas.

Installation of photovoltaic skylights, integrating sustainability and design.

Restoration and cleaning of the historic façade, respecting its architectural value.

Project challenges

The refurbishment of Mutual Médica was a challenge to modernise a heritage building without altering its essence. The integration of connectivity, lighting and air conditioning installations required precision in order to respect its original architecture. Of particular note was the installation of the photovoltaic glass skylight without affecting the historic structure.
