Construcía was in charge of the finishes and building work done on the new Hewlett Packard (HPI) building, specialising in the research and development of 3D printers. It is expected to be the most important building in the world for the company, where the most cutting-edge creations will be born and which will place this new building located in Barcelona (Sant Cugat) at the global epicentre of 3D printing.

The warehouse covers approximately 15,000 m2 on two floors. The ground floor is divided into two very different areas, which give the building a unique personality.

– Labs: a space where all the printers in development are located.

– Inspectors Corridor: dividing corridor from where the printers are monitored.

– Carpet Labs: office space where developers and engineers are located.

The building also has 6 toilet areas, a loading and unloading dock, an infirmary, coffee corners, restaurant, double spaces and 3 elevators.

The building’s construction was developed in a fast track format, in addition to following the LEAN and Lean2Cradle methodology; and the LEED standards.
